HR pros - Adarsh Doshi, Ashish Kumar and Reega Verma dropping some mad hints for Vistas '22 - The Arcadian Soul.
Q - What would you define as ground rules of festing?
Never mess with your event heads and no matter how creative you are or whatever you are doing you should always maintain decency and decorum in whatever you are putting forth in your tasks. Other than that it also requires one to have very good backup - have friends in the right places to aid you with certain tasks who can give you a better perspective of... let's say marketing, or finance. All in all, ground rules of festing in HR requires one to be original, creative and a master in cleverly managing time.
Q - Why should participants choose HR?
Human Resources as a functional department is crucial for any organisation. As there are people involved anywhwere and everywhere the need to manage human capital increases each day. Human Resource event offers its participants to hone their people skills. It offers them real life tasks and requires them to give out solutions which are both practical and creative in nature. The event heads always make a sincere effort to ensure that their participants have a fun filled learning experience of the real corporate world.
Q - Apart from what the name conveys, what do you think is the essence of HR?
This year the theme of our event is focused on gamification and sustainability. In the rounds, this would mean anything beyond classroom rounds.
It involves mad creativity, mad technical skills and all we want our participants to experience is fun and nothing else. The rounds would be beyond rusty overnighters and torturous on-spots and we want to bring out the best out of them and at the same time we just want them to have fun. It's all that we want this year from our participants. That is all we are trying to incorporate in our event.
Q - The right kind of extra devlirables to bring to the table?
Here's an HR checklist - Manpower Acquisition Form, Training and Development Schedule, or as simple as say, a Recruitment Advertisement. At the same time when we say extra it could be anything creative like give us a comic strip, a video, a jingle, do a role play, do anything as out of the box as possible!
Q - What’s a classic round/task that participants can look forward to in your event?
A classic round that participants can look forward to in our event is, as mentioned in the boot camp also, is ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ as we like to call it which is basically about expatriation. matchmaking and due diligence. Mergers and Acquisitions and Expatriation are the ones to look out for. These are our favorite ones because it tests your technical acumen as well as your creativity.
Q - Your tips for on-spots and reports?
HR needs to be very empathetic, understanding and they cannot shift blame to employees. For the on spots, there is a need to be spontaneous but at the same time, very composed, understanding and empathetic. Being empathetic and confident towards the entire situation or towards the customer and client is very important.
As for reports, we will stick with the formatting because reports hold great value and you need to be skilled at typing your reports. So we want the reports and PPTs to be well formatted, whether it's a 30 to 40 pages report or of 2 pages, formatting is something very important.
And on an ending note, we would like to tell our participants that -
If you’re at this HR Arcade, make sure you don’t leave your traces behind because here, nobody is too ahead to rest or too behind to trail!
