Rapid Fire ft. Marketing

All your marketing myths busted by Aryaman Chatterjee, Hannah Nitika, Vedanta Tripathi and Yash Holani!

Q - What are the prerequisites to festing?

There are no prerequisites for festing. If you love a challenge and are willing to do anything to prove that, you’ll love festing!

Q - How crucial is research for your event?

According to our experience, research has proven to be our best friend during tasks. Performing any task without research is pure time waste.

Research is strongly recommended as you should know A-Z about the topic in order to face the rebuttals and impromptu questions by the event heads. Simply put, research is the key to success and your savior at the same time.

Q - Is having a teammate a make or break for Vistas?

Both situations have their own pros and cons. Having a teammate is good because you really need someone to act like a helping hand and it's always better to have a group of two or three rather than being alone and facing this rigid fest. Your team acts like a backbone because if one isn't confident enough to present or answer rebuttals, the others can cover upon that. Now putting some light on the opposite side of this, contradicting ideas may raise fights or lead to mind blockage. It sometimes becomes very tough to come to a final decision.

Q - Is knowing what’s happening globally important?

It’s not necessary to be on top of news, at all times. But, it will give you a competitive edge if you can refute any facts we bring up.

Q - Extra is always good, what extra deliverables would you recommend?

Securing an edge over others is what makes you shine and win the fest.

Going an extra mile is what giving extra deliverables in fests means. We expect participants to show as much creativity as they can. If it's a creative task, make unique things like brochures, videos, radio ads etc. If the task is more on the technical side, market analysis is not mentioned in normal deliverables, facts and other statistics would be highly appreciated. There are some tasks which you are not able to understand or complete properly and tend to lose marks so, why not make some extra deliverables and try to reduce or eliminate those loss of marks?

Q - What do you expect from a participant when delivering on-spots?

Confidence.

For every on spot, you can choose one of two sides, an opposing view or one that agrees with the situation in hand. Both points are allowed, but the person that can remain with one view point throughout will ultimately win.

Good luck, and we'll see you in the rounds!
